Choose Start Live Countdown on your Apple TV. Check the time zone in Settings, then keep the TV on with Midnight open. The full show builds over the final ten minutes. Midnight cannot wake a sleeping TV or play its countdown while another app is open.
Try the show now
The free Watch the Preview option gives you a 55-second sample. With an active annual membership, choose Rehearse Midnight to try the Final Ten Minutes, Final Minute, or Final Ten Seconds. Each rehearsal begins ten seconds before its selected section.
Add a personal greeting
Open Make Midnight Yours on the TV and scan its QR code with your phone. Check the matching code, then choose Yes, Allow on the TV. On your phone, allow microphone access, record up to ten seconds, listen back, and tap Send to TV.
Once the TV has saved it, choose Use This Greeting and wait for Ready for midnight. Keep Current Voice saves the recording without changing the selected voice. If your greeting is already selected, a prepared replacement is ready automatically.
Microphone or connection trouble?
Use the recording link opened by the TV’s current QR code. Confirm the connection on the TV. If your browser denied microphone access, check its permission settings for the recording website and try again. Return to Make Midnight Yours on the TV for a fresh connection if the phone session has expired.
Unsent previews stay in page memory. Reloading or closing the recording page before Send to TV discards them.
No sound?
Check your TV or receiver volume and Midnight’s sound selection. Full Show includes music, bells, and effects. Effects Only leaves out music. Silent mutes everything, including personal greetings. Midnight Voice and Crowd Cheering have separate controls.
Will my greeting work offline?
A fully prepared greeting plays locally at midnight. If tvOS has removed the cached recording and the network is unavailable when the app reopens, the bundled crowd celebration is used. Prepare and preview your greeting before your event. Nothing is streamed at midnight.
Replace or remove a greeting
Use Make Midnight Yours on your TV. Remove Greeting clears its local copy immediately. When online, it also revokes cloud access; offline deletion is retried after reconnection. Cloud file deletion runs through scheduled cleanup and can take longer. A replacement only takes over after the TV verifies and prepares it.

Purchases, restoration, and cancellation
In Midnight, open Settings → Membership to view access and find Restore Purchases. Use the Apple Account that made the purchase. Pending, canceled, or failed purchase attempts do not unlock access. Turning off renewal preserves access through the paid period.

Keep the photo moment going
After the show, background fireworks continue with a clean screen for photographs. Use Back or Menu on the Siri Remote to reveal the exit controls.
