What is Midnight?
Midnight is a New Year’s Eve countdown and celebration app for Apple TV, with a cinematic show, fireworks, sound options, and an optional personal greeting prepared from your phone.
Do I need to keep the app open?
Yes. Keep your Apple TV on with Midnight in the foreground. The app cannot wake a sleeping TV or run its show while another app is open.
Can I try it before New Year’s Eve?
Yes. The free 55-second preview samples the countdown and celebration. An active annual membership also unlocks full rehearsals, so you can get everything ready before the night.
Do I need a phone?
Only if you want to prepare a personal greeting. A supported phone browser and internet connection are needed for setup. The countdown and bundled crowd celebration do not require a personal recording.
Is my personal greeting private?
Your greeting is sent only when you choose Send to TV, and is stored privately for your connected TV. See the privacy policy for the data used, retention periods, and removal instructions.
